💫 T U E S D A Y, April 4💫
Give back to yourself and to RAICES Texas - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency dedicated to defending the rights of immigrants and refugees, empowering individuals, families, and communities - Tuesday, April 4th, 2023.
Join facilitator Evelyn Luviano for an evening of connection and conscious relaxation. Embark on a vibrational exploration as you are enveloped in the potent frequencies of crystal singing bowls and gong.
Tap into mind-body wisdom by allowing for deep rest where bodily systems and optimal function can be supported. Healing cannot occur in a state of distress and dis-ease. When the “fight or flight” response is activated, as it often is in our modern age, anything beyond the perceived threat and survival is simply not a priority.
When you join our community sound meditation, you are helping me give back to a non-profit that is dear to my heart, especially as a child of immigrant parents. All proceeds from this event will be donated in full to RAICES Texas in gratitude for all their work to defend human rights. Please contact me if you cannot attend in person and would still like to donate.
ABOUT RAICES TEXAS:
WE defend THE RIGHTS OF IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES, empower INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES, AND advocate FOR LIBERTY AND JUSTICE.
OUR VISION
We envision a compassionate society where all people have the right to migrate and human rights are guaranteed.
ON THE FRONTLINES
Current immigration policy denies entry to refugees fleeing violence, detains people in abusive detention centers, and separates parents from their children. This intentionally dehumanizing policy is being carried out by the people we elected; this policy is a reflection of us, and if we do not take action, this will become who we are. The soul of America is at stake, and RAICES is at the forefront of the fight to ensure human dignity for each and every person.
The Children’s Program provided legal services to over 4,700 detained children, including thousands held in a tent city in Tornillo, TX.
We’ve established the largest Bond Fund in the nation. Since June 2018, our fund has spent just under $12 million directly to secure the release of more than 1,200 individuals from ICE detention.
Through our San Antonio Bus Station Project, RAICES staff and volunteers helped more than 9,000 adults and 12,000 children released from detention understand their legal rights.
Our Volunteer Program trained over 5,000 volunteers and pro bono lawyers to perform essential tasks such as accompanying people to ICE check-ins and preparing detained clients for credible fear interviews.
FIGHT FOR OUR FAMILIES
At RAICES, we believe that all people have the right to seek a safe and secure future for their families. We open over 10,000 affirmative and removal defense cases annually to preserve that right.
For 35 years, our attorneys and social service providers have modeled through their work what a humane immigration system could look like in the U.S. And we continue to fight in the courtroom, the halls of Congress, and alongside our community to make that model our country’s reality.
Defend the human dignity of asylum seekers, immigrants, and refugees. Make a tax-deductible donation today.

Land Acknowledgement
I am currently located in Chicago, Illinois on the traditional unceded homelands of the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations. Many other tribes such as the Miami, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac, and Fox also called this area home. As a De-Indigenized and De-Tribalized Mexican woman I offer my deepest gratitude and continuous commitment to Indigenous rights, racial justice, and cultural equity for all.
